Winter Parking In Effect December 1

The Lake Mills Police Department reminds residents that overnight parking restrictions go into effect on December 1st and continue through March 31st. Lake Mills City Code §615-17 reads, “Night parking prohibited. No person shall park a vehicle on any streets between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. during the months of December, January, February and March of any year.” Note, the City Code doesn’t require precipitation to be on the ground for the parking restriction to be in effect.

Leading up to December 1st, officers will be placing warning notices on vehicles that are parked on the street overnight. Citations will be issued to vehicles parked on the street overnight starting December 1st. If you have a special circumstance, and would like permission to park on the street overnight, contact the Lake Mills Police Department at 920-648-2354 before you park overnight. You may be granted limited exceptions for one night at a time.

Inquiries may be directed to the Lake Mills Police Department at 920-648-2354.
